I absolutely love vision boards! They are great for manifesting and motivating yourself. Vision boards can help you manifest your dreams and goals for the year. In today’s post, I am going to share with you how you can create a vision board that will actually work for you in 2021.
Steps to create a vision board
Step 1: Find out what platform you want to use
There are two types of vision boards: digital and physical. A digital vision board can be done on Pinterest or Canva. A physical one can be done on a wall, poster, or in a journal. For the purpose of this post, we are going to use Pinterest and make a collage on Canva.
Step 2: Set and create actionable goals
Start making a list of things that you want to accomplish or do for this year. These goals should be actionable and things that you can actually do.
I have come up with a list of things that I wanted to include on my vision board. In terms of actionable goals, some things that I am looking forward towards is graduating, getting a job, and doing more photoshoots. I also hope that once things calm down, I would be able to travel sometime next year.
Step 3: Come up with “inspiring words”
These are just a few simple words that would describe how you would want your year to look. These will also help you when you are going to find quotes and pictures for your vision board.
The words that I am going to include on mine are:
- Joy
- Happiness
- Routine
- Healthy
- Inspired
Step 3: Find images & quotes that represent you & what you want
This is the step where it’s time to create the vision board. I started a board on Pinterest called 2021 vision board and started pinning inspiration, looking up some of the things that I want to manifest for next year. This includes things like healthy recipes, workouts, outfit inspiration, and creative photography.

You can also use the “inspiring” words that you came up as well as your actionable goals.
Once I have the photos and themes of the thing I want for my vision board saved to my Pinterest board, I am then going to save them to my desktop. Once they are in a folder in my desk top, I am going to import them into the website called Canva.
The dimensions I choose for my design are (1920 X 1080 px), the same size as my desktop wallpaper. After my images are imported into Canva, I will arrange them, crop them, and edit them however I want.

I also am going to add some text on the collage and inspiring words. This is the end result and I absolutely love how it turned out!

Step 4: Place the vision board somewhere where you will see it
One way that you can really make sure that you are constantly being inspired by your vision board is by putting it in a prominent place. This can be on your wall, desktop or phone wallpaper, or in a journal.
This way you can be inspired every day and remember to work hard for your goals and aspirations. Sometimes during hard times, we forget that our future goals are and by putting it in a prominent place, you can easily see them.
Step 5: Look at it every single day
This goes with the step before a little bit and that is to look at your vision board every day. Remind yourself why you’re pushing yourself to be the best that you can be and to reach those goals that you want to accomplish.
And that’s it! I love how my vision board turned out and I can’t wait to use it to manifest and push towards my goals. These are super easy to create and you can make it as personal as you want.
Wrap Up
And that’s it! Creating a vision board is completely free and it’s so much fun to do! I also love how it turned out. I hope this post inspired you to make your own vision board and start manifesting a great year!
